New front wooden fence

I got an order to build a new wooden fence that separates the front driveways between neighbors.
The old fence collapsed in few seasons because it was made from thin bamboo sticks.
The old piles of the fence were planted directly into the ground, such a solution leads to total wood degradation.

I removed the rotten piles from the old fence and in the places after them, I made several concrete foundations.
In the foundations, I have sunk the stainless handles and attached them to the new piles.
In addition, I reinforced the entire frame structure of the fence with several transverses of wooden timber.
Only for such a solid and stable frame, I could screw over 60 boards, whose total weight definitely exceeds 40kg.

The new wooden fence was made from 18 mm panels 10 cm wide with a tongue and groove system. This system allows you to build a solid fence without gaps. It’s a good solution to minimizing the penetration of water between panels.
The new wooden fence completely changed the space. The visual effect was complemented by garden care work.
All trees and shrubs have been trimmed. The lawn was subjected to an aerated area, in addition, I trimmed the edges and removed weeds.

Look below at a comparison showing the beginning and the end of the work.

The materials I used to build the new wooden fence:

  • 6 square meters of shiplap cladding board treated & smooth 144 x 18 mm,
  • 4m of treated sawn timber 75 x 44 mm,
  • 400 stainless steel screws,
  • 6 bricks and metal brackets,
  • cement and sand,
  • 0.5 liter of oil for wood.

Making the wooden fence from scratch with shopping, cutting boards to size, removing old piles, building the foundations, fitting the frame and boards, polishing and painting took me a total of up to 8 hours.
